Fr. Teri Harroun is elected new LOC Pastor

Dear Friends of Light of Christ (LOC) Ecumenical Catholic Community:

We are overjoyed to announce the selection of Fr. Terese Harroun to the position of pastor at Light of Christ
in Longmont. Fr. Teri received an enthusiastic and unanimous vote by the congregation on July 15th. Her appointment will begin on August 1st followed by an installation ceremony on Saturday, August 19th at the 5:00 pm liturgical service. 
 
Community members believe that Fr.Teri is eminently qualified for this leadership role.  Briefly,
Fr. Teri is:
      ·  Deeply centered in God’s love which resonates in her life choices, religious practices, commitment to service and
         compassionate care;
·  A gifted homilist, teacher, and spiritual guide deeply rooted in Scripture, Catholic teaching and   sacramental life;
·  A leader who elicits the best ideas and aspirations of all participants;
·  A woman of personal integrity, wisdom, joy, and common sense; and
·  A dynamic presence within the broader Longmont community.

Fr. Teri will be transitioning from her role as pastoral associate at LOC which she has held for the past six years. She completed her formal religious studies in 2009 with a Masters in Divinity degree from Iliff School of Theology where she focused on pastoral care, youth ministry, spiritual direction, and LGBTQ issues related to faith development.

Fr. Teri is a leader in the Ecumenical Catholic Communion (ECC) and is dedicated to the pursuit and practice of sacramental justice. The ECC’s commitment to inclusivity and hospitality are part of her core values. The Light of Christ community is extremely excited and proud to support Fr. Teri’s spiritual and pastoral journey and welcome her into the role of pastor at LOC.
