Our sacraments are inclusive for all who, following the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, seek compassion, justice, and peace in the world.
Communion
Communion is offered at an Open Table at every Mass at Light of Christ. All are welcome to receive. Gluten-free options are always available. We also offer grape juice in addition to wine.
Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick
Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick are available by request. Contact the church office.
First Communion and First Reconciliation
First Communion and First Reconciliation preparation classes are also led by the Pastor in small groups or with individual children and/or their families.
Baptism
Baptism for infants and young children traditionally takes place during our weekly Saturday evening Mass. Parents prepare for this by meeting with the Pastor ahead of time for conversation. For older children and adults, preparation with the Pastor happens with the individual seeking Baptism.
Confirmation
The Confirmation preparation program is led by the Pastor. Fundamentals of the faith and prayer are explored. Confirmation is generally celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass. Adults and youth prepare separately for this sacrament.
Marriage
LOC is delighted to help celebrate weddings for all couples, including those who are: Divorced and remarried, LGBTQIA+, Interdenominational and interfaith, Those wanting an outdoor wedding and Clergy. Please contact the church office for details.
Funerals
LOC and/or our pastor are available for funerals, Memorial Masses, and cemetery committal services. Please contact the church office for details.
